Mobility (Erasmus)

Vitae Mobility Program: enriching international experiences to train global and empathetic professionals.

A training that moves with you.

Vitae International

We believe that student exchanges are essential experiences that prepare students to adapt to any context and become more skilled and empathetic professionals. That is why we are developing a student mobility program that aims to increase the number of students participating in international mobility programs over the next five years.

International Mobility

Vitae’s International Mobility Programs seek to offer opportunities to experience studying in Europe and beyond. In this way, our students are prepared to adapt to any context, learn new ways of doing things, and experience different cultures, all while valuing the ability to communicate in more than one language. A unique opportunity for life!

Vitae Escola Universitària de l’Esport i la Salut participates in the Erasmus+, offering students the opportunity to study or gain professional experience abroad as part of their academic journey.

Through Erasmus+ mobility, students can develop academic, professional and intercultural skills while ensuring that their learning outcomes are fully recognised upon return.

Types of Mobility

Students can participate in Erasmus+ mobility through two main pathways:

  • Study Mobility

Students complete part of their studies at a partner higher education institution abroad. Mobility periods typically last one semester or a full academic year (30–60 ECTS credits).

  • Traineeship Mobility

Students may undertake a traineeship in a company, organisation or institution abroad.
Traineeships usually last between 2 and 12 months and are designed to provide practical experience aligned with the student’s field of study.

Mobility Process for Outgoing Students

The mobility process for outgoing students is coordinated by the Office of Global Affairs and follows a structured and transparent procedure:

  1. Information and Call for Applications
The institution publishes calls for applications, including available destinations, partner institutions and eligibility criteria.
  2. Application and Selection
Students submit their applications within the established deadlines. Selection is based on transparent and objective criteria.
  3. Nomination and Acceptance
Selected students are nominated to the host institution and complete the required application
    procedures of the receiving organisation.
  4. Learning Agreement Preparation
Before the mobility period, students define their study programme or traineeship activities in a Learning Agreement, which must be approved by all parties.
  5. Mobility Period
Students carry out their studies or traineeship abroad in accordance with the agreed programme.
  6. Completion and Recognition
At the end of the mobility period, the activities completed abroad are documented and recognised in accordance with institutional and Erasmus+ requirements.

Mobility Process for Incoming Students

Incoming students are nominated by their home institution and supported by the Office of Global Affairs throughout the mobility process.

The process generally includes the following steps:

  1. Nomination by the Home Institution
Partner institutions nominate selected students to Vitae Escola Universitària de l’Esport i la Salut.
  2. Application and Acceptance
Nominated students receive information on the application procedure and submit the required documentation. Upon acceptance, students receive confirmation and relevant practical information.
  3. Learning Agreement Preparation
Students prepare their Learning Agreement in coordination with both institutions to define their study programme.
  4. Arrival and Integration
Students receive guidance on arrival procedures, administrative steps and academic integration.
  5. Mobility Period
Students attend courses or carry out traineeship activities in accordance with the agreed programme.
  6. Completion of Mobility
At the end of the mobility period, the institution issues a Transcript of Records or Traineeship Certificate documenting the results achieved.

Academic Planning and Flexibility

Mobility periods are designed to integrate fully into the student’s academic pathway.

Depending on the programme:

  • Study plans may be adapted in agreement with academic coordinators
  • Courses can be selected, replaced or complemented with elective components
  • Traineeships are incorporated into the academic structure and validated as part of the curriculum

All academic activities are agreed in advance to ensure coherence with the student’s degree programme.

Selection Criteria

Erasmus+ mobility opportunities are open to students who meet the academic and programme requirements established for each call.

The selection process is carried out transparently and takes different aspects into
consideration, including:

  • academic performance,
  • completed ECTS credits and academic progress,
  • motivation and interest in the mobility experience,
  • language competence relevant to the destination or activity,
  • and the overall suitability of the mobility experience within the student’s academic pathway.

Depending on the type of mobility, shortlisted candidates may also be invited to participate in a short interview as part of the evaluation process.

Applications are assessed through an internal points-based evaluation system designed to
ensure fairness, transparency, equal opportunities and inclusive participation among candidates.

Vitae Escola Universitària de l’Esport i la Salut encourages participation from students with fewer opportunities and aims to progressively support accessible and inclusive international mobility experiences in accordance with Erasmus+ principles.

Detailed information regarding eligibility requirements, application procedures, evaluation
criteria and mobility conditions will be provided within each Erasmus+ mobility call.

Inclusion, Equal Opportunities and Blended Mobility

Vitae Escola Universitària de l’Esport i la Salut is committed to ensuring equal access to Erasmus+ mobility opportunities in line with the principles of non-discrimination, inclusion and transparency.

Mobility opportunities are open to all students, including those with fewer opportunities. The institution provides guidance and support throughout all stages of the mobility process to promote equitable participation.

In addition to physical mobility, students may also participate in blended mobility formats,
combining a shorter period abroad with a virtual component. These formats aim to increase flexibility and accessibility while maintaining the quality of the learning experience.

Erasmus Student Charter

Students participating in Erasmus+ mobility are entitled to specific rights and are expected to fulfil certain obligations, as outlined in the Erasmus Student Charter.

All participants are required to read the Charter before the start of their mobility period.

Practical Information for Incoming Students

Vitae Escola Universitària de l’Esport i la Salut provides guidance and support to incoming students to help them prepare their mobility period.

Detailed practical information is shared with nominated students prior to arrival by the Office of Global Affairs.

Accommodation

Vitae Escola Universitària de l’Esport i la Salut does not currently offer on-campus
accommodation. However, incoming students receive guidance on available housing options in Barcelona.

The most common accommodation options for students include:

  • Rooms in shared apartments (the most typical and affordable option)
  • Private student residences
  • Individual studios or apartments

Due to the high demand for student housing in Barcelona, availability can be limited,
particularly before the start of the academic year. Students are strongly encouraged to begin their search several months in advance.

As a general indication, rental prices for rooms in shared apartments may range approximately between 400 and 750 EUR per month, depending on the location and conditions.

Students typically search for accommodation through online housing platforms, rental websites, or student networks.

Students are advised to exercise caution when searching for accommodation:

  • Avoid making payments before signing a contract or verifying the property
  • Be cautious of offers that seem unusually low-priced
  • Whenever possible, visit the accommodation or use trusted platforms

The Office of Global Affairs may provide further guidance to students after nomination.

Visa and Administrative Procedures

Students coming from countries requiring a visa are responsible for completing the necessary procedures.

The institution will provide supporting documentation (such as admission or nomination letters) to facilitate visa applications where required.

Students are advised to consult the relevant embassy or consulate for up-to-date information.

Insurance

Students participating in Erasmus+ mobility are responsible for ensuring that they have adequate insurance coverage for the entire duration of their stay.

Students are generally required to hold a valid European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) or equivalent health coverage. In addition, it is required that students obtain complementary insurance covering medical expenses, repatriation and travel.

Students undertaking traineeships will also be required to have liability and accident insurance, depending on the requirements of the host organisation.

Further information and guidance may be provided by the Office of Global Affairs prior to the start of the mobility period.

Arrival and Support

The Office of Global Affairs supports incoming students before and during their mobility period.

Guidance is provided on arrival, administrative procedures and academic integration. Further information is communicated directly to students after nomination.

Academic Credit System

Vitae Escola Universitària de l’Esport i la Salut applies the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) to structure its academic programmes and measure student workload.

  • 60 ECTS credits correspond to a full-time academic year
  • 30 ECTS credits correspond to one academic semester

ECTS credits are based on defined learning outcomes and the workload required to achieve them, ensuring transparency and comparability between higher education institutions.

Grading System

The grading system is based on a numerical scale from 0.0 to 10.0 (with a maximum of one decimal place). The minimum passing grade is 5.0.

The grading scale is as follows:

  • 9.0 – 10: Excellent
  • 7.0 – 8.9: Very Good
  • 5.0 – 6.9: Pass
  • 0.0 – 4.9: Fail

The final grade for each subject is expressed numerically.

Students who do not attend the final exam receive a “Not Attended” grade, corresponding to a numerical grade of 0.

Honours Distinction

An “Honours” distinction (Matrícula de Honor) may be awarded to students who achieve an excellent grade. This distinction is limited to a maximum of 5% of students enrolled in a subject (or one student in groups of fewer than 20).

Students awarded this distinction may benefit from a tuition fee exemption for the same number of credits in the following academic year.

Grade Comparability

Due to differences between national grading systems, direct equivalence between grades awarded in different countries cannot always be established.

Vitae Escola Universitària de l’Esport i la Salut ensures fair and transparent recognition of
grades obtained abroad in accordance with the principles of the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) and applicable national regulations.

For the interpretation and recognition of grades obtained during mobility periods, the institution may refer to the official equivalence guidelines and decisions published by the competent national authorities, including any future updates or revisions to these regulations.

This approach ensures that grades awarded during Erasmus+ mobility are assessed consistently, transparently and fairly.

Commitment to Automatic Recognition

Vitae Escola Universitària de l’Esport i la Salut guarantees the full and automatic recognition of all credits obtained by students during their Erasmus+ mobility period.

All credits earned for successfully achieving the agreed learning outcomes during a study or traineeship period abroad, including blended mobility, are recognised without delay, provided that they have been previously approved in the Learning Agreement and confirmed in the Transcript of Records or Traineeship Certificate.

No additional coursework, examinations or administrative requirements are imposed upon the student’s return.

Recognition Process and Key Documents

Recognition of mobility periods is based on clear and transparent documentation:

  • Learning Agreement: defines the study programme or traineeship activities to be carried out abroad and ensures prior academic approval
  • Transcript of Records / Traineeship Certificate: confirms the results achieved during the mobility period
  • Course Catalogue: provides detailed information on courses, learning outcomes and ECTS credits

All credits agreed in these documents are fully recognised and incorporated into the student’s academic record.

  • Full recognition of agreed learning outcomes

Recognised credits form an integral part of the student’s degree and contribute directly to
academic progression.

Student Information and Support

Students are informed about recognition procedures, required documentation, and their rights and obligations before, during and after their mobility period.

The Office of Global Affairs provides guidance throughout the process to ensure clarity,
consistency and compliance with Erasmus+ requirements.

Continuous Improvement

The institution is committed to continuously improving its recognition practices by aligning with European guidelines and ensuring a transparent, student-centred approach to international mobility.

The language of instruction at Vitae Escola Universitària de l’Esport i la Salut is Spanish and Catalan.

Incoming students are therefore required to have an appropriate level of proficiency in one or both languages in order to successfully follow classes and complete academic activities. Detailed information on the language of instruction for each course is provided in the Course Catalogue.

Language Requirements

Students must ensure that they meet the recommended language level prior to the start of their mobility period. The required level may vary depending on the programme and courses selected. Language proficiency may be demonstrated through official certificates or other recognised means.

Language Assessment

Students may be invited to assess their language level through the European Union’s Online Language Support (OLS) tool, which allows participants in the Erasmus+ to evaluate their competences and monitor their progress during mobility.
