The Cruyff Football Method
Understanding the game to transform it
The Cruyff Football methodology is not just a way of training, it is a way of understanding football.
Inspired by the innovative vision of Johan Cruyff and successfully applied in clubs such as FC Barcelona and Ajax, it promotes a style of play based on:
- Intelligence
- Creativity
- Constant decision-making
This approach develops coaches capable of:
- Building teams with their own identity
- Interpreting the game before reacting to it
- Optimizing every resource on the pitch
- Developing intelligent players, not just physically prepared ones
The 3P model
The Cruyff methodology is structured around three fundamental principles.
Possession
Control the ball and move it with intention to destabilize the opponent.
Pressure
Recover the ball immediately after losing it. The best moment to win the ball back is right after losing it.
Position
Occupy spaces correctly to remain efficient, organized, and ready to react.
“There is only one ball, so you need to have it. But having the ball is not enough, we need to know what to do with it, we play with our brains”
Johan Cruyff
