Certificate of Higher Education (HNC)

You have direct access if you meet any of the following criteria:

  • You have the VET in Outdoor Sports & Leisure Guide.
  • You have completed any VET degree (please consult with the Education Department). 
  • You hold any GCE qualification. 
  • You have a Specialist Technician or Higher Technician qualification or equivalent. 
  • You have completed the second year of a GCE in any experimental modality. 
  • You have passed the University Orientation Course (COU) or a Pre-University Course. 
  • You have a university degree or equivalent. 
  • You passed the university entrance exam for students over 25 years of age. 

If you do not meet any of the above criteria, you must sit an entry exam. To take it, you must be at least 19 years old or be 19 years old during the calendar year in which the test is taken.

After this: 

With these studies you obtain the Certificate of Higher Education (HNC) , which allows access to any official university degree. 

Vocational Education and Training (VET)

You have direct access to if you meet any of the following criteria:

  • You hold a General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE).
  • You have passed the specific course that grants you access to a VET.
  • You hold a Technical or Assistant Technical qualification.
  • You have passed the second year of the Unified and Polyvalent Baccalaureate (BUP) – Spain only. 
  • You have other equivalent studies for academic purposes.
  • You have passed the university entrance exam for those over 25 years of age.
  • You have passed the compulsory modules of an Initial Vocational Qualification Programme (PCPI).
  • You have the qualification required to access a HNC. 

If you do not meet any of the above criteria you will have to sit an entry test.

After this:

With these studies you obtain the title of VET, which allows you to access:

  • the GCE 
  • a HNC of the same route as the VET.

Teaching (Sports Technician)

Requirements to access level 1 – Initial Course:

To access the 1st level or Initial Course you have to meet the following requirements:

  • Hold a GCSE (or equivalent for academic purposes). 
  • You must have passed the university entrance exam for people over 25 years of age. 
  •  Those who do not meet the above requirements must pass the specific course to access the VET or a general entrance exam. To sit this test, you must be at least 17 years of age in the year in which the test is taken.
  • Pass a specific test.

Requirements for access to level 2 – Final Course:

  • To access the 2nd level or the Final Course it is necessary to have passed the 1st level  of the speciality. 

After this:

If you pass the 1st level or Initial Course you will obtain a certificate that allows you to access:  

  • the second level.
  • work directly.

If you pass the 2nd level or Final Course, you will obtain a Sports technician qualification, which allows you to access:

  • a HNC of sports education of the same modality, if you pass the general entrance exam or if you have a GCE diploma.
  • a HNC of Vocational Training in the family of Physical and Sporting activities, if you pass the entrance exam or if you have a GCE diploma.
  •  the GCE (you do not have to take the optional subjects, as they are validated).
  • work directly.
